Which anaesthetics CT1 interview resource is best overall?
Anaesthetic Interview is best overall at 30 out of 35, because it is the only resource that maps to both ANRO stations, carries 340 questions, and marks spoken answers, which is the skill the interview tests.
However, anaestheticinterview has no app, and its price for the window is middling at £97 against Quesmed's £69.99. If you need offline practice on a phone, Medibuddy or Quesmed serve that better.
Is the RCoA interview video worth watching?
Yes, once. The Royal College of Anaesthetists' video, presented by a CT1 anaesthetist, walks through the interview structure, the scoring matrix and example questions, and it is free.
That said, the RCoA's own page states the timings in the video are not current and directs applicants to ANRO for dates. It scores 2 for freshness for that reason, and 1 for volume because it contains a handful of examples.
What does the ANRO applicant guidance give you?
ANRO's applicant guidance gives you the format, the domains, the mark scheme, the 60 out of 100 threshold and the veto rules, in the document your assessors are trained on, for nothing.
The ANRO applicant guidance is the PDF the Anaesthetics National Recruitment Office publishes before each round; the August 2026 edition is the 2026 position and the 2027 edition is expected before 22 October 2026. It contains no practice questions, hence 1 for volume and spoken practice.
Is Medibuddy's anaesthetics question bank worth £85?
Medibuddy's £85 bank is worth it if you want an app and written scenarios for both stations; it scores 23 out of 35 with over 30 scenarios, iOS and Android apps, and access running to September 2027.
Its page states five scenarios were updated for 2026. It does not offer spoken practice or marking, and there is no free sample on the page, so it scores 1 on both. A £140 bundle adds a clinical knowledge course.
Is Quesmed's anaesthetics bank worth £69.99?
Quesmed's bank is the cheapest paid option at £69.99 for six months and scores 21 out of 35, with 40 or more scenarios, 20 or more model-answer videos and an offline app covering both stations.
The videos show how an answer is phrased, which earns 2 for spoken practice, but there is no marking of your own answer. The page carries no cycle year, so freshness is 2.
What does ST Interview offer?
ST Interview offers a £109 online course with ten mock interviews, two Zoom workshops and peer practice sessions, and a subscription bank of five general and five clinical mocks with live mock workshops for subscribers.
The live workshops are real spoken practice, which earns 4. However, the course page describes mocks "updated for the 2025 format" and workshops in February 2026, and the bank page targets the 2026 interview, so freshness is 2. The bank price was not shown on 10 September 2026.
What does Medset offer?
Medset offers an £89 online course covering both stations with over 80 questions and 70 topics, a £329 mock interview with feedback on the official domains, and a £349 bundle, read from its page on 11 September 2026.
The course names twelve clinical scenarios and references "new 2026 updates". Spoken feedback exists only through the £329 mock, so spoken practice scores 3 and price 2. No free sample is offered.
Does ACE Medicine sell an anaesthetics interview product?
No. ACE Medicine's courses page, read on 11 September 2026, lists a £150 Core Surgical Training interview course, a CST question bank and one-to-one mocks, and no anaesthetics CT1 or ACCS product.
It is included because candidates ask about it. It scores 1 throughout because there is nothing to buy; if it launches an anaesthetics product, this page will be updated.
